Grüner Veltliner VIERZGER
Provincial city wine: Every year, outstanding wines from the region surrounding the capital are selected and awarded the title of the official St. Pölten wine for the following twelve months. For 2026, the chosen wine comes from WINZER KREMS. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of St. Pölten becoming the capital of Lower Austria, which will be marked in 2026, it proudly carries the name “Vierzger” (“Forty”).
Characteristics: Bright pale yellow with subtle green highlights. On the nose, it is pleasantly restrained with spicy notes. The typical hint of pepper, characteristic for this style, appears delicately and accompanies the wine through to its smooth and enjoyable finish. A classic Veltliner grown on fertile loess soils.
Best to drink: 1-2 years after the harvest
Serving temperature: 8 – 10 °Celsius
We advise: A versatile companion at the table – pairs well with fish and meat dishes and is an excellent accompaniment to the traditional Austrian cuisine as “Wiener Schnitzel”.
